and 14 PhD Students.
The Post Graduate and Research Department of Mathematics, Bharata Mata College Thrikkakara, renowned for its academic prowess and research excellence, traces its origins back to 1965, coinciding with the college's establishment. Since then, it has embarked on an illustrious journey marked by profound growth and evolution. Initially supporting a Pre-degree course, it has expanded its offerings to include a degree course in Mathematics in 1978, followed by the introduction of the M.Sc. Mathematics programme in 1995. The department obtained recognition as a research centre in 2006, highlighting its unwavering commitment to the advancement of mathematical knowledge.
Presently, the department is staffed with 5 permanent and 3 guest faculty members, with 4 faculty holding Ph.D. from prestigious institutes in the country, reflecting the department's commitment to academic excellence and research. The research centre is supported by three active research guides. Our reputation speaks volumes: ten students have successfully obtained their Ph.D. degrees from the research centre. Moreover, our faculty members have collectively produced approximately 100 research publications in esteemed national and international journals. Thrust areas of the research are Fuzzy Algebra, Fuzzy Topology, Graph Theory and Fluid Dynamics.
Our students consistently achieve top university ranks and excel in All India entrance exams, reflecting the department's strong academic standards. Additionally, our excellent placement record ensures promising career prospects for our graduates.
