The Parent Teacher Association, Bharata Mata College, Thrikkakara formally came into being with well-written bye-laws on 21 st March 1993 in conformity with GO (MS) No. 133/90/H.Edu. dt. 1-5-1990. Since then it has been co-operating with the institution in its efforts to provide facilities for the all-round development and general welfare of the students with the awareness that the teachers and the parents have a joint responsibility in the bringing up of the students
The Parent Teacher Association of Bharata Mata College holds its annual general body meeting in the month of October every year and elects the members of its executive committee from the general body. The Principal acts as the president of the PTA. One elected member from the teaching staff works as the secretary. Apart from this, there are other nine elected members representing the parents of undergraduate and post graduate students. A vice-president is also elected from the executive members.
The PTA takes active interest in academic and co-curricular programmes of the students. Various welfare schemes are undertaken by this association. Besides the regular meetings of the executive, emergency meetings are also conducted when a need arises. PTA is strongly involved in the conduct of admissions, internal examinations, open house, sports, university youth festivals, medical care etc.
